About Us: Blue Arrow Southampton is recruiting dedicated staff to join our team, providing end-to-end procurement and supply chain services to hospitals in Basingstoke, and Winchester. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our Materials Management team in North Hampshire.
Role Overview: As a member of our Materials Management team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring an efficient and reliable materials management service across the Trust. Your responsibilities will include setting up and maintaining ward/department stock profiles, including high value 'non-stock' items procured directly from suppliers, to meet clinical requirements.


Key Responsibilities:
* Establish and maintain ward/department stock profiles to meet clinical needs, including physically setting up storerooms and updating the computerised materials management system.
* Deliver and unpack stock to wards/departments, ensuring accuracy and proper stock rotation.
* Perform housekeeping duties to maintain the tidiness and cleanliness of storerooms, encouraging user departments to uphold these standards.
* Act as a liaison between user departments and suppliers to fulfil customer needs.
* Communicate and resolve queries, discrepancies, uplifts/collections, or stock-outs on behalf of end users.
* Maintain and update the computerised stock system, producing reports to review trends and offer cost-effective recommendations to budget holders.
* Serve as the first point of contact for clinical staff regarding procurement processes, new products, and obsolete items.
* Provide information on storage or equipment requirements and assist with labelling shelves for efficient stock storage.
* Assist with the removal, return, or disposal of excess or redundant stock under the supervision of the Materials Management Supervisor.
* Train new members of the Materials Management team.
* Manage your workload with flexibility to assist other team members during staff absences or workload peaks.
* Optimise stock levels and address slow or non-moving stock to achieve rationalisation.
* Produce authorisation reports and maintain authorisation from managers/budget holders for agreed stock levels in line with Trust audit requirements.
* Follow relevant policies and procedures, providing feedback on changes as needed.


Skills & Attributes:
* Strong organisational and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Experience in materials management or a related field is preferred.
* Proficiency in using computerised stock systems.
