B.D.M / Technical Sales Engineer - Calibration Experts

Our client is seeking an additional Business Development Manager with a technical engineering background to grow sales in the region by developing new prospects and growing existing client's sales

The required split between new and existing client visits will be 70/30. (Return to base, on-site, Embedded)

Key duties will include managing a sales region and identifying sales targets


Package:

  • Base salary: 40,000
  • 20% Performance related bonus
  • Car Allowance
  • Pension Contribution

The Role:

  • A minimum of 8 new client meetings per week
  • Achieve 100% of Sales budget on both new and existing clients that fall under your accountability
  • Lead tender processes for the allocated region
  • Make regular use of Company capabilities and innovations when presenting to new or existing clients
  • Report on the status of competition encountered (technical and price performance)
  • Working with UK senior management team, sets and monitors sales objectives to achieve Group/UK budgetary objectives
  • Provide information to internal departments so that quote generation can take place without delay to maximize the potential of the sales lead
  • Submit reports and forecasts as requested by the UK Sales Director on a regular and prompt basis
  • Participate in local, regional, national and Global trade shows as required

Competencies Required:

  • Proven experience and success in both sales development and the development of new clients (Metrology sales would be preferential)
  • Knowledge of the calibration market is highly desirable - Electrical Instrumentation experience (Yateley Facility) / or mechanical, dimensional, force torque, OEM's
  • Must have excellent analytical and organisational skills with verbal, written persuasion and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel and Power Point is essential, plus experience in the use of CRM systems e.g. V Tiger

  • Steady under pressure with the ability to multi task
  • Ability to meet deadlines and targets as the role is results driven
  • Willing to travel as the role will be based over a geographical region
