Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Contract Type: Full time or part time
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our school in Winchester. This role involves working with a Special Educational Needs (SEN) pupil in the afternoons and providing PPA (Planning, Preparation, and Assessment) cover for teachers as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one support for an SEN pupil, ensuring their educational and developmental needs are met.
- Deliver tailored interventions and support strategies to enhance the pupil's learning experience.
- Cover PPA sessions, delivering engaging lessons across various subjects following pre-prepared plans.
- Collaborate with teachers and the SENCO to ensure continuity and effectiveness of support.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.
Requirements:
- HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience working with SEN pupils.
- Strong understanding of child development and inclusive education strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and a proactive approach to supporting students and covering lessons.
