Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Transport Planner to lead and manage complex transportation projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transport planning, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. This role requires strategic thinking, stakeholder engagement, and a deep understanding of transportation systems and policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Lead and manage large-scale transport planning projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.

  • Transport Analysis: Conduct detailed transport demand modeling, traffic impact assessments, and feasibility studies to support project development and decision-making.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with public and private sector clients, government agencies, community groups, and other stakeholders to gather input, address concerns, and build consensus on transportation initiatives.

  • Policy and Strategy Development: Develop and implement transportation policies, strategies, and action plans that align with regional and national objectives for sustainability, mobility, and economic development.

  • Data Management: Analyze and interpret transportation data, including traffic patterns, environmental impacts, and economic factors, to inform project planning and policy recommendations.

  • Team Mentorship: Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical support to junior planners and analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with relevant transportation regulations, planning guidelines, and environmental standards.

  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and present detailed reports, proposals, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, including senior management and clients.

  • Innovation and Best Practices: Stay updated with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in transportation planning, and integrate these into project work.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Transport Planning, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in transport planning, with a proven track record of managing complex projects.
  • Proficiency in transport modeling software (e.g., VISSIM, ARCADY, PICADY and LINSIG,) and GIS tools.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation policies, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with public sector clients and familiarity with government procurement processes.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Professional accreditation (e.g., CIHT, TPP, CEng) is desirable.
