Summary

We’re looking for a Business Services Coordinator to join our team from mid-January 2025. We can provide the training, but you’ll need to bring a can-do attitude and work well as part of a team.

You'll work either 4 or 5 days per week. We can be flexible about the working pattern and this will be discussed further at interview stage.

This is a fixed term contract due to end when the previous employee returns from maternity leave.  At this point we cannot confirm exactly how long this contract will last, but it is unlikely to be more than 12 months.

If you have any questions, or would like an informal chat about the role, please contact Amy Pitch, Visitor Operations & Experience Manager: .uk

What it's like to work here

You’ll be based at Wray, an eccentric and spectacular Mock-Gothic castle in the Lake District. Set in rolling parkland, you’ll be able to enjoy uninterrupted views of Windermere from the office and rambling through the woods on your lunchbreak. One day a week you may also be required to work from our ranger base in Coniston.

You’ll be joining an experienced Business Services team, supporting our visitor business, and working alongside other departments including Gardens, Rangers, Collections and Facilities. It’s an exciting time for Wray, we are busy planning for the future and have an ambitious programme of investment over the next few years.

As well as the property team you’ll be part of a wider ‘South Lakes’ network, collectively looking after an area of ownership stretching between Coniston Water and the western lakeshore of Windermere. It includes 4000 hectares of land which is rich in nature and culture. These are some of the most iconic landscapes in the world, with over 18 million people visiting the Lake District each year.

What you'll be doing

Your role will be varied and there is always lots to do. You'll be responsible for the following core tasks: managing visitor bookings for Hill Top and Steam Yacht Gondola, banking, purchasing and procurement, monitoring shared inboxes and responding to visitor queries, finance systems support, IT & admin support, marketing support and project support. Full training will be provided, and you’ll be supported by an experienced team.

Who we're looking for

To deliver this role successfully, you'll need:

  • good written and verbal communication skills
  • to be a great team player
  • to be flexible and customer -focussed with strong customer service skills
  • experience in cash handling– this could be in a business or office environment
  • to be able to multi-task and prioritise own workload
  • to be well organised, with attention to detail, maintaining accurate records
  • advanced IT Skills, including confidence in Microsoft Office 365

Please submit a cover letter alongside your CV.
