Your new companyHays Recruitment are proud to be working in partnership with a Winsford-based SEND school that supports pupils with complex and profound needs between EYFS - KS4 as they are looking to recruit a number of motivated and reliable teaching assistants for temporary to permanent contracts. This school is looking to appoint a minimum of 6 teaching assistants for full-time positions (8:45am - 3:45pm) and the salary will be paid to scale from day 1.Your new roleAs a teaching assistant within this school, you will be supporting pupils with complex and profound needs, typically including ASD, complex LD, non-verbal, down syndrome and other complex needs. You will work alongside class teachers to offer a safe and stimulating learning environment for all pupils by taking a pupil-centred approach to education and implementing a myriad of positive behaviour strategies. As you will be supporting SEN you will mainly support your pupils on a 1:1 basis to ensure that each pupils EHCP and needs are met. Other duties will include speech and language support, behaviour management, use of PECs & Makaton, interventions and boosters.What you'll need to succeedTo be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as recent referenceable experience supporting children or adults with complex needs, as well as:

  • An NVQ Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification is advantageous but not essential
  • Experience supporting complex needs within a classroom environment is advantageous
  • Be able to commit to a full-time contract
