Your new companyHays Recruitment are proud to be supporting a single-form entry SEND school in Winsford as they are looking to appoint motivated and reliable teaching assistants for long-term contracts after the October half-term. This school supports students from EYFS to KS4, with a number of pupils requiring 1:1 support.Your new roleIn your new role as a teaching assistant within this school, you will be joining a team of supportive educational professionals. You will be supporting pupils with SEN on a 1:1 and small group basis, offering intervention and booster sessions in core subjects as required. As a number of pupils require 1:1 support and have a dual diagnosis of non-verbal and ASD, you will be required to work on pupils' speech and language by offering phonics sessions on a 1:1 and group basis as well as using PECs and Makaton. You will work alongside the class teacher to aid in behaviour and classroom management, ensuring and inclusive and accessible learning environment for all pupils.What you'll need to succeedTo be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as recent referenceable experience supporting children and young people, as well as:

  • Experience supporting young people with SEN (special educational needs)
  • Experience supporting children on a 1:1 and small group basis
  • Be able to commit to a full-time temporary contract
