Mechanical Project Manager
Essential Skills / Qualifications / Attributes:
• Good general technical knowledge of building services systems. (Mechanical services bias).
• Must have good communication skills and adapt these as necessary/appropriate.
• Must be able to build trust and confidence with clients and all stakeholders.
• Must have good IT Skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Must have good commercial awareness and good negotiation skills.
Experience:
• Recognised qualification in Building Services Engineering or other appropriate engineering subject is preferred. Candidates without formal engineering qualifications may be considered if they have acquired sufficient experience to demonstrate competence in the skills necessary to fulfil the role.
• Min 8years construction contractor project experience, 5years in Contract Engineer / Contract Management role, leading relevant mechanical building services projects/packages in the range £1m-£10m value. High rise residential experience is preferred but not essential.
• Experience of preparing and engaging with trusted sub-contractors on sub-sub-packages, including in respect of sub-contractor management, co-ordination and negotiations.
• Value engineering experience.
• Good awareness of commercial risks and opportunities.
• Positive project leadership qualities.
