Our client is an industry leader with decades of experience in providing bespoke metal fabrications and installations across multiple industries. They have built a solid reputation for not only the quality and craftsmen of their work but also their customer service excellence across the board.

With the company having a successful track record in recent years, they are expanding and wanting to bring in a Workshop Foreman to be part of their established team. This person will play a pivotal role in organising and overseeing the workshop team. They will need to oversee multiple projects at any one time which will cover everything from initial fabrication to installation. The ideal candidate will have a strong welding / fabrication background to be able to support a large team passing on valuable knowledge. This role would suit someone wanting to come away from the tools.

What's involved for the Workshop Foreman…

  • Management of Engineers (up to 40)
  • Steer the team to continued success with high-quality standards
  • Organisation and planning across 2 teams and 3 workshops.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager and Draughtsmen
  • Work to strict deadlines
  • Work closely with Stores to ensure materials are ready for workshop and site-based projects
  • Promote all Health & safety standards adhering to these
  • Welding and light project work from time to time
What you'll need…
  • Excellent organisation and co-ordinating skills
  • Experience at Supervisor level - (2 years minimum)
  • Time management and planning
  • Overall keen eye for detail and quality checks
  • Ability to understand clearly engineering drawings
  • MIG and TIG welding and fabrication experience
  • Strong people management skills
  • H&S Experience
  • Extensive knowledge in working with stainless steel and mild steel
  • Pipework is desirable but not essential
  • Positive can-do attitude within workshop and client environment

This is a Full time, permanent Workshop Foreman role, working Monday to Friday 50 hours basic per week with 1 in 3 Saturday mornings
