Are you looking for interesting work which makes a difference?We are looking for a dedicated and reliable person, to provide driving support, sighted guidance and administrative support to a visually impaired social worker in South/mid ESSEX, and Upminster.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to use existing skills to make a difference for 2 to 3 days a week.

The role involves mostly working one to one, providing administrative and observational support to facilitate their own professional role.About the Role: As a personal assistant your responsibilities will include:• Working with a visually impaired social worker and meeting care providers, vulnerable adults in care settings and the community, to support prevention of harm to adults.• Supporting the Social Worker to monitor their caseload, including accessing the Safeguarding database.• ensuring a record of events are maintained and relevant documents are uploaded. • Support to Access adults Case Lists in a database to establish if those involved in abuse cases have care and support needs,• Visiting care providers, making safeguarding observations and recording these.• Support to prepare accurate written visit report notes.• Analysing and reporting findings from documents such as Rotas, and signing in sheets, from care providers, to identify effective provision of care. Support to analyse care plans/risk assessments/body maps/accident reports, etc, ensuring the information is accurate and consistent, and report findings to the social worker.• Support to maintain records of student Social Workers’ attendance.• Planning and preparation for meetings, diary management, compilation of papers and agendas.• Driving the visually impaired social worker to various locations in Essex (mainly Mid and South), approximately twice weekly, supporting their role (when required).The role allows for flexibility and some occasional work from home, Essex County Council buildings and from Upminster.About YouIt is essential that you can demonstrate:• An excellent understanding of Microsoft programmes, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Microsoft Teams• A relaxed and easy-going personality with a very high level of written/verbal communication and professionalism.• Excellent observational skills with an eye for detail.• Demonstrate a high level of trust, integrity with a good understanding of confidentiality and professional boundaries.• Punctual, organised, and reliable• Be able to work well within a wider social care team.• Excellent understanding of English and Maths, with suitable qualifications i.e., GCSE’s or equivalent• Would be beneficial to have an understanding of adult social care or prior care experience.• Beneficial to have an understanding of safeguarding with vulnerable adults.• Have, or willing to obtain a valid up-to-date DBS and be able to provide proof of update service.• Have a full UK Driving License and access to own car with business class insurance.• Flexible to travel to different areas of Essex.• Adaptable to change.

Experience:• Administrative and analytical skills: 2 years (preferred)• Driving: 3 years (preferred)• Understanding of Disability: 3 years (preferred)

Pay, Hours and BenefitsIn return you will be paid £15 per hour, working hours between 15 - 22.5 hours per week.
