The Opportunity
Our client are seeking a skilled Data Analyst for a 6-month temporary position. This role is pivotal in driving data-driven decisions and improving council services. It offers hybrid working, with a requirement to be on-site two days per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver actionable insights and support decision-making.
- Conduct advanced data analyses on large datasets to identify trends and opportunities.
- Develop and maintain high-quality dashboards and reports using tools like Pentana.
- Ensure data quality and integrity across all datasets used for operations and analysis.
- Provide data-driven recommendations to enhance processes, products, and services.
- Report bugs, resolve issues, and contribute to functional signoffs.
- Stay informed about emerging tools, technologies, and methodologies to drive innovation.
- Mentor and support team members, fostering a culture of learning and growth.
What We Are Looking For
Essential Experience and Skills :
- Proven experience as a Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst or Data Analyst.
- Proficiency in MySQL for database querying, management, and optimisation.
- Strong knowledge of statistical methods and server-side scripting languages (e.g., PHP, Python).
- Demonstrated ability to analyse data and provide operational and strategic insights.
- Excellent communication skills to present findings and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Commitment to maintaining high data quality standards.
- Local Government experience required
Desirable Qualities :
- Experience in using Pentana or similar tools for reporting and analysis.
- A proactive approach to identifying and implementing data-driven improvements.
- The ability to align data requirements with business objectives effectively.
