Principal Accountabilities:

Business Partnering

  • Serve as a strategic partner for assigned departments, providing consultative support on people management and aligning HR practices with organisational objectives.
  • Analyse HR data to identify trends and develop initiatives to enhance recruitment, development, and retention strategies.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, develop, and mentor a team of HR Advisors and Coordinators, conducting regular performance appraisals and supporting team development aligned with strategic HR goals.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build effective partnerships with key stakeholders, ensuring responsive, high-quality HR support.

Employee Relations

  • Advise managers on employment law, HR policies, and terms and conditions, and provide support on complex employee relations cases, including disciplinary actions, grievances, and redundancies.

Organisational Change

  • Support managers through organizational change initiatives, providing planning guidance to achieve strategic outcomes.

Case Management

  • Oversee and manage HR casework on issues such as disciplinary actions, grievances, ill-health, and redeployment, ensuring legal compliance and adherence to best practices.

Safeguarding

  • Act as the HR lead on safeguarding matters, ensuring compliance with policies and statutory guidelines, including management of the Single Central Record (SCR).

Recruitment & Selection

  • Ensure efficient recruitment processes, supporting managers in staffing needs, conducting interviews, and overseeing pre-employment checks.

Policy Development & Projects

  • Lead or contribute to HR and cross-departmental projects, ensuring goals are met within specified timelines. Support the review and development of HR policies and practices.

Employee Relations & Trade Union Liaison

  • Liaise with recognized trade unions on employee relations, coordinating documentation and implementing agreed actions.

Compliance

  • Maintain confidentiality and data security in line with GDPR requirements.
