We have a great opportunity for an experienced Design Manager to join a leading manufacturer and distributor of a wide range of products to include, toys & games, gifts, homeware products. Their offices are based in the Essex area and they are working fulltime in the studio. Offices have onsite free parking.

The RoleWe are looking for a Design Manager who has hands-on skills and oversees the design process for a project from concept to completion.You will lead a team of designers and artworkers to create packaging designs and general marketing artworks that meet the project specifications and client expectations

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage the design and artworker teams, motivate and encourage them to produce their best work
  • Manage the design process to ensure designs and artwork are produced on time and to a high quality
  • Improve design processes to enhance efficiency and quality
  • Work with the wider teams to understand requirements and obligations
  • Ensure all pack designs and artwork, meet current legislation, standards and code of practices
  • Develop and maintain a corporate style in line with international identity guidelines, ensuring the brands remain fresh and relevant
  • Contributing to artwork/design projects with planning and coordination with key stakeholder engagement.
  • Has solid experience with Adobe software, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop
  • Maintain a rigorous job tracking system providing reports and information as and when required
  • Take a pro - active approach to researching the latest design techniques and methodology sharing creative ideas and solution with other designers and the wider organisation
  • Work effectively with the team and cross - company teams, to ensure a highly proactive and solution - focussed service delivery
  • Participate in staff reviews, events and development activities
  • Work to tight deadlines
  • Good communication at all levels
