Are you a recent graduate with a passion for planning and shaping the future of communities? This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and forward-thinking planning consultancy in Essex as a Graduate Town Planner.

The RoleAs a Graduate Town Planner, you will play a key role in delivering planning projects for a range of clients, from local authorities to private developers. This role will allow you to develop a broad understanding of the planning process, including site assessments, planning applications, policy writing, and liaising with stakeholders.

You will be involved in a variety of projects, including residential, mixed-use, and commercial developments, and have the chance to work alongside experienced planners who will guide you through the early stages of your career.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and submission of planning applications
  • Conduct site appraisals and provide planning advice to clients
  • Research and analyse planning policy and regulations
  • Prepare planning reports, presentations, and documents for clients and stakeholders
  • Liaise with local authorities, developers, and other external partners
  • Contribute to team meetings and collaborate on planning strategies

Skills and Experience Required:

  • A relevant degree in Town Planning or a related discipline
  • Strong understanding of UK planning policy and regulations
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and planning software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Desirable:

  • Some experience or internship within the planning sector
  • Knowledge of GIS software
