The RoleAs a Graduate Town Planner, you will play a key role in delivering planning projects for a range of clients, from local authorities to private developers. This role will allow you to develop a broad understanding of the planning process, including site assessments, planning applications, policy writing, and liaising with stakeholders.
You will be involved in a variety of projects, including residential, mixed-use, and commercial developments, and have the chance to work alongside experienced planners who will guide you through the early stages of your career.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and submission of planning applications
- Conduct site appraisals and provide planning advice to clients
- Research and analyse planning policy and regulations
- Prepare planning reports, presentations, and documents for clients and stakeholders
- Liaise with local authorities, developers, and other external partners
- Contribute to team meetings and collaborate on planning strategies
Skills and Experience Required:
- A relevant degree in Town Planning or a related discipline
- Strong understanding of UK planning policy and regulations
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and planning software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Desirable:
- Some experience or internship within the planning sector
- Knowledge of GIS software
