Our client, a Freight Forwarder, is seeking a dynamic and driven Import Sales Manager to spearhead new business initiatives and cultivate lasting relationships with UK-based SMEs, focusing on import services.

As they continue to grow their business, the Import Sales Manager will play a crucial role in driving import services forward, creating new business opportunities and contributing to long-term strategic goals. Salary is 45-50K plus Uncapped Commisison and Car / Car Allowance

The Role:
The successful candidate will lead business development efforts within the Import Team, focusing on identifying and developing new opportunities, while maintaining and growing relationships with existing clients. As a key player in the company’s growth strategy, the Sales Manager will drive sales and play an integral part in building the import division as they scale their operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the business development strategy for our import services in line with the company’s vision and growth objectives.
  • Generate leads and manage both new and existing client relationships, with a focus on UK SMEs and international import partners.
  • Enhance and nurture relationships with key clients, providing tailored solutions that meet their import and logistics needs.
  • Lead client onboarding processes and serve as the main point of contact, ensuring smooth communication and follow-through on action plans.
  • Conduct regular business review meetings with clients to maintain engagement and identify further opportunities for growth.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop campaigns via social platforms, databases, and targeted communications to attract new clients.


Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in sales or business development, with a focus on logistics or import services.
  • Proven track record in lead generation, client acquisition, and managing high-value accounts.
  • In-depth understanding of import logistics, international trade regulations, and the role of customers in the global supply chain.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with experience developing high-quality business proposals and closing deals ranging from £10k to £1m per annum.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage both internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and the ability to create impactful presentations and documentation.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, with a consultative, professional approach to business development.
  • Experience in 3PL (Third-Party Logistics), particularly in warehousing, transportation, and freight forwarding, is preferred.
