This is a rare opportunity. My client, an industry leading FMCG manufacturing firm that ship their product worldwide, are looking for a Mechanical and Electrical Site Engineer for their Witham operation.

The successful candidate will need to be looking to make an impact, settle somewhere, progress and become integral to the business. If you are looking to move every 2 years or have a history of moving jobs frequently then this one is likely not for you. However, if you are looking to learn, add value, implement ideas, take ownership, accountability and commit to offering the best electro-mechanical support to a company enjoying record year on year growth then this could be for you!

Responsibilities will be vast and varied, 70:30 split between mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance. Think hydraulics, pneumatics, welding & fabricating, workshop skills, repairing parts over simply swapping out (but knowing when repairing is futile) being able to quickly react to changing priorities, PLC work would be a bonus.

What should excite you:

  • Minimising downtime to ensure production demands are met
  • Working toward a pre-emptive over reactive culture
  • Devising and implementing new systems to increase efficiencies
  • Growth is continual here - plenty of untapped potential
  • The opportunity for career stability - this industry has proved 'recession resilient’

The successful candidate will be:

  • Broad mechanical and electrical skill set preferably from an 24/5 production environment, FMCG would be ideal
  • 17th Edition Certified
  • Committed, flexible, dependable and resilient
  • Ready to get stuck in, keen to make the role yours, but ready to have a long period of learning
  • 40 hour week, happy working across 2 shifts 07:00 - 15:00 and 15:00 - 23:00 with nights on call. (Yet to have a breakdown between’23:00 and 07:00)
  • This company have 3 sites; you will be primarily based in Witham, but get involved in project work and holiday cover at 2 other sites within 45 minutes north of Witham so a driving license is essential.

For the right person this opportunity will be fantastic. Great rewards, career growth, job stability and a super team to work with. If this advert has left you wanting to learn more call Greg Alton at Onit Recruitment for a chat or simply hit the 'apply now’ button.
