Futures are partnering with a leading player in the FMCG sector, dedicated to providing high-quality and innovative products to consumers worldwide. This business supply throughout UK, Europe and the Far East and Middle East, they have experienced excellent growth over the past few years, with a current turnover of £40m and a team of 100+ employees.

Due to growth, they are expanding and hiring for a Junior Buyer.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about the FMCG industry and eager to develop their career in procurement.

Key Responsibilities of a Junior Buyer:

  • Assist in the procurement of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods within the FMCG sector.

  • Maintain supplier relationships, ensuring timely delivery and optimal pricing.

  • Collaborate with internal teams, including logistics, marketing, and finance, to ensure product availability and alignment with demand forecasts.

  • Monitor market trends and competitor pricing to identify cost-saving opportunities.

  • Support senior buyers in managing the purchasing process and negotiating with suppliers.

  • Update and maintain purchasing records, ensuring accurate and timely data entry.

  • Prepare reports on inventory levels, supplier performance, and purchasing trends.

  • Assist in resolving any procurement-related issues or discrepancies.

Skills and Experience Required of a Junior Buyer:

  • 1-2 years of experience within a Junior Buyer or Assistant Buyer role.

  • Ideally experience within the FMCG or manufacturing industry.

  • Strong understanding of the purchasing process and supply chain management.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

  • Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with procurement software is an advantage.

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field is desirable but not essential.
