You'll be part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team with a focus on preventative social care, helping adults with learning disabilities and autism build independence through strengths-based, person-centred approaches.

The Role:

As a Social Worker in our Learning Disabilities & Autism Outreach team, you'll be at the heart of supporting adults with complex needs in supported living and residential care across Essex. Your focus will be on:

  • Undertaking Care Act reviews and developing plans that foster independence and progression.
  • Working with family members, advocates, and care providers to ensure person-centred care.
  • Partnering with internal and external teams, including health services, legal services, and the Court of Protection.
  • Championing technology-enabled care (TEC) to improve independence.

This community-based role will see you traveling across Essex, with the flexibility to be based from any ECC location for administrative work.

About You:

To succeed in this role, you mustbe aqualified social worker registered with Social Work England, with at least 1 year of post-qualifying experience. You will bring:

  • A thorough understanding of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, Mental Health Act, and Court of Protection procedures.
  • Confidence in person-centred, positive risk-taking approaches.
  • The ability to manage and assess commissioned care packages with a strong understanding of financial implications.

A driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential due to the countywide nature of the role.
