Learning Support Assistant (LSA) - EYFS

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting EYFS Teachers: Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering lessons to young children.
  • Individual and Group Support: Providing support to individual children or small groups, particularly those who may have additional learning needs.
  • Behavior and Pastoral Care: Supporting children in their social and emotional development.
  • Classroom Management: Helping to maintain a positive and productive classroom environment.
  • Record Keeping: Assisting with tracking children's progress and any necessary reporting.
  • Engaging Activities: Leading or supporting activities that promote learning through play and exploration.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Experience working with children: Ideally in an educational or care setting, particularly with younger children (EYFS experience preferred).
  • Patience and Empathy: A caring attitude and understanding of young children's developmental needs.
  • Team Player: Ability to work well as part of a team with teachers and other support staff.
  • Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent): This would be desirable but not always required.
  • DBS Check: A current enhanced DBS check will likely be required.
