The Role: We are seeking an enthusiastic and qualified SEN Science Teacher to join our team on a part-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and accessible science lessons to students with SEN, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment, and supporting the overall development and well-being of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality science lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of students with SEN.
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and differentiated learning activities.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Work collaboratively with the SENCO, teaching assistants, and other staff members to support student learning and development.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and achievement.
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies and resources to make science accessible and enjoyable for all students.
  • Attend and contribute to staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and ensure compliance with school policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant teaching qualifications.
  • Experience teaching science, preferably with experience in an SEN setting.
  • Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and SEN best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students with SEN.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
