About the Role:We are seeking a dedicated Band 6 Children’s Speech and Language Therapist to join our dynamic team in providing essential services to children facing speech, language, and communication difficulties. In this role, you will play a crucial part in enhancing the lives of young people and their families, offering tailored therapeutic interventions and support.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Decision-Making: Conduct thorough assessments and make informed clinical decisions, with the option to consult highly specialist clinical staff for second opinions.

  • Care Plan Development: Construct clear and individualized care plans by analyzing assessment data, applying theoretical knowledge, and utilizing clinical benchmarks.

  • Empathetic Communication: Demonstrate empathy with clients, carers, and families, ensuring effective communication even when barriers exist. Your ability to motivate participation in therapeutic activities is vital.

  • Information Sharing: Communicate complex condition-related information effectively to clients, families, and multidisciplinary team members, both in written and verbal forms.

  • Professional Development: Identify personal and professional development areas through a reflective learning framework, maintaining a professional portfolio as part of your growth.

  • Workload Management: Organize, plan, and prioritize your own workload to ensure effective service delivery across multiple sites.
