A client of ours in the Witham area are recruiting a Transport Planner to join their team. This is a full-time position working Monday - Friday 8.00am - 5.00pm and paying up to 28,000 (negotiable for the right person) per annum depending on experience.

Key Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure that Drivers Hours and Working Directive Regulations are adhered to by all drivers and mobile workers and that accurate records are maintained.
  • Ensure Vehicle and drivers' cards are correctly registered and downloaded.
  • Ensure the fleet ownership and maintenance are correctly maintained.
  • DVSA file check sheets are always up to date and fully compliant.
  • Ensure that all vehicles and trailers are properly inspected and maintained and that the maintenance schedules are adhered to.
  • Maintain the insurance records, fleet records and DVSA records of all changes to the fleet size, number of vehicles and trailers and their identification.
  • FORS Fuel & Emissions Champion
  • Drivers' vehicle, trailer and equipment safety checks are completed in accordance with guidelines.
  • Ensure safety, maintenance and inspection documents are correctly maintained.
  • Transport Risk Assessments and Safe Working Practices.
  • Transport accident investigation and near miss reporting.


Skills and Experience required to be considered for this Transport Planner position:

  • Experience planning express or same-day van drivers.
  • Vehicle weights and legal limits.
  • Experience of Drivers' Hours and Working Time Directive Regulations
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient with the Microsoft packages
  • High attention to detail
  • Experience within the Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain industry.
