Are you a compassionate and committed educator looking to make a real difference? GSL Education is seeking a 1:1 Tutor to work with young people in the Withernsea area, delivering personalised tuition to students who require additional academic or emotional support outside of the traditional classroom.

This is a fantastic opportunity for qualified teachers, teaching assistants, or experienced tutors to provide tailored interventions that help young people overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.

About the Role as a Tutor:

  • Delivering 1:1 tuition in core subjects (Literacy, Numeracy, English, Maths, and Science) or according to your specialism.
  • Supporting students who may be out of mainstream education, including those with SEMH, SEND, or behavioural needs.
  • Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons based on the individual’s needs.
  • Monitoring progress and feeding back to GSL and relevant stakeholders.
  • Working either in-school, at home (with parental/carer supervision), or in alternative settings depending on the student’s circumstances.

The Ideal Tutor Will:

  • Have experience teaching or tutoring students, ideally in a 1:1 or small group setting.
  • Be confident adapting lessons to suit learners with varying levels of ability and support needs.
  • Have strong behaviour management and communication skills.
  • Be patient, empathetic, and passionate about helping young people succeed.
  • Hold a relevant teaching qualification or have strong subject knowledge with demonstrable experience.
  • Be confident working independently and flexibly.
