The Teaching Assistant - Witney role:

  • Assist classroom activities - Work in partnership with teachers to plan and perform dynamic lessons to pupils, implementing inclusive and creative strategies. 1 to 1 support may be required.
  • Excellent support team - opportunities for progression, essential for aspiring Early Careers.
  • Supporting and nurturing the environment for the Witney based students to absorb a solid foundation of their education. Previous understanding of the national KS1 & KS2 curriculum is not essential, ability to adapt to new content is key.
  • Awareness of child safe-guarding and ability to highlight concerns to senior teaching staff.
  • Promote holistic student growth, contribute to creating a safe cohesive classroom.

Key skills/requirements:

  • Level 2/3 childcare (desired)
  • Enhanced DBS - currently holding a valid on the update service or be willing to undergo the process.
  • Pro-active demeanour, energetic, enthusiastic and caring approach to supporting the OX28 based students.
  • Support on a 1-2-1 basis with a pupil with ASD/Autism or another with Social and Emotional Mental Health Needs (SEMH).
  • A strong background in Maths and English is ideal for this role and the Primary school are ideally looking for someone with previous experience with SEN.
