Vision Systems Engineer

A global leader in advanced medical technology is seeking a talented Vision Systems Engineer to join their highly skilled engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge automation and vision system technology in a Centre of Excellence focused on high-volume manufacturing.

As a Vision Systems Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing advanced vision solutions across automated manufacturing equipment. You will lead projects from initial scoping and proposal to full design, development, and installation, collaborating closely with engineering teams across manufacturing and R&D.

Key Responsibilities of the Vision Systems Engineer:

  • Develop and integrate innovative vision systems to support manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end vision system solutions.
  • Stay updated on the latest industry trends and apply emerging technologies effectively.
  • Lead the development of a departmental Machine Vision strategy, including sourcing and supplier selection.

About You
To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • A formal qualification (HNC, HND, or degree) in Engineering, Science, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience integrating vision systems and automated inspection solutions (Cognex, Keyence preferred).
  • Programming skills in C/C# and familiarity with code readers.
  • Knowledge of control systems (Siemens S7 or Allen Bradley PLCs is a plus).
  • Exposure to vision libraries/frameworks like OpenCV or PyTorch is desirable.
  • Strong documentation skills and attention to detail, especially in regulated environments.
