Family Solicitor - WitneyA well-established and expanding law firm in Witney is seeking an experienced Family Solicitor to join its growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a solicitor looking to take the next step in their career. The role offers the chance to work alongside a supportive team while managing a varied caseload and contributing to the growth of the family law practice.Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a diverse caseload of family law matters, with appropriate supervision, including:
    • Divorce and civil partnership dissolution
    • Financial settlements on relationship breakdowns
    • Child Arrangements Orders
    • Nuptial and cohabitation agreements
    • Non-molestation and occupation orders
  • Represent clients in advocacy, including directions hearings and other family court proceedings.
  • Oversee costing, billing, and credit control on own files to ensure efficient management of financial aspects.
  • Build and develop a network of clients and referrers, contributing to the growth of the family law practice.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the business development strategy for the family team.
  • Provide high-quality legal advice to clients, ensuring sensitive handling of family matters.

Key Requirements:

  • A qualified solicitor or professional equivalent with experience in family law.
  • Strong understanding of family finances, separation, and breakdown of relationships.
  • Experience in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and advocacy in family court.
  • Excellent billing practices and financial hygiene.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships with clients and referrers.
  • Up-to-date understanding and commitment to risk management and compliance.
  • Proficiency in IT applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook, with experience using case management systems.
