Industry: Process Plant - Gases

A world-leading industrial gases and engineering company require a Quality Engineer to join their Safety, Health, Environment & Quality team in Woking. The successful candidate will have exposure to the companys whole product and service portfolio, as well as the opportunity to directly engaging with customers

The ideal candidate will have a broad technical background and be familiar with Quality Management Systems such as ISO 9001.

Duties:

  • You will have full ownership of our risk-based supplier assessment programme, which includes managing the programme and conducting both in person and remote assessments, and ensuring the follow up of findings to ensure a consistent high level of products and services to our customers
  • You will take a dynamic, personal, and nurtured approach in building relationships and leading discussions with our suppliers to support them when their systems and processes, products, equipment and services dont meet our needs
  • This role will give you the chance to make step change and continuous improvements to our supplier assessment programme, defective equipment investigation process and other quality processes
  • You will work closely with our Procurement team to facilitate the development and maintenance of a system to monitor and communicate the performance of our quality critical suppliers
  • You will collaborate with colleagues across your region within multiple areas of the business, and represent the UK & Ireland business in work with the global organisation

Requirements:

  • Degree level in a technical subject such as chemical or mechanical engineering, or circa. 4 years relevant working experience in an operational, engineering or Safety, Health, Quality role
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and influence internal stakeholders at all levels, including senior leaders as well as externally
  • You understand broad business and health & safety risk exposures as well as the impact of the non-conformities identified during audits
  • In addition, you have an existing, or an ability and desire to obtain, knowledge of legislation and standards applicable to our products, services and equipment
  • A knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements, or you have a lead auditor qualification or are a member of the Chartered Quality Institute that would be an advantage but if not, we would like somebody to want to learn and develop themselves within these areas
  • Furthermore, you work with integrity role modelling the behaviours aligned to being a safe and inclusive workplace
  • And lastly, you have good IT skills with knowledge of quality management systems being an You must have a high level of personal integrity
