We are a well established Global business based in Woking who are now recruiting for a Senior Bid Manager to join our senior management team. The role would suit candidates with experience of bid campaign management from opportunity identification through to project delivery now seeking a fresh challenge with a locally based employer.

We will welcome applications from candidates educated to Degree level and with APMP practitioner or professional level, with strong people management skills used to working in a dynamic sales environment. You will be managing a small team and must have the ability to work under pressure and to challenging deadlines. Working Monday to Friday with flexible hours and working from home options available, you will receive a competitive salary dependent on experience, plus annual bonus up to 10% of salary, 20 days annual leave (increasing annually up to 30) plus the bank holidays and complimentary Christmas shutdown days, free parking, healthcare, pension scheme and life insurance.

Reporting into the Group MD, you will be working at Director Level and must be fully conversant with the competitive marketplace and have a sound commercial understanding including P&L, and risk management skills with the ability to manage complex issues relating to clients and have responsible for visiting/contacting clients seeking regular client feedback to which prompt response required in order to improve client relationships and service product/quality.

As Senior Bid Manager your responsibilities will include:• To manage the bid qualification process for new opportunities. • Manage virtual bid teams and inputs from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from sales, marketing, product teams, finance, commercial, legal and delivery. • Contributing effectively towards bid strategy and customer win plan. • Efficient management of the Bid/Sales Administration Team • Leading the delivery of strategic and complex bid opportunities. • Preparing and reviewing the commercial aspects of the bid, ensuring all services are included in the final price to the customer. • Risk tracking and management throughout the bid process. • Contributing to the written proposal - both in terms of content and presentation (such as preparation of a management summary). • Manage the bid budget. • Ensure timely delivery of compliant and commercially sound bids. • Understand and resolve complex technical, strategic and business issues. • The completion of quarterly Customer Satisfaction Questionnaires. • Tailoring the bid process appropriately for opportunity timescales - ensuring deadlines are met by those involved. • Managing customer interaction and takes a customer facing role when required. • Oversee the maintenance and updates of the CRM database sales pipeline in conjunction with company’s policies and procedures. • Lead market pricing research in order to underpin competitively priced bids. • Arrange all post bid reviews with customers, post contract award. Ensuring internal and external “lessons-learnt” reviews are held and outcomes documented, included bid analysis and reporting. Following up on meetings/telecoms attended by members of the Sales Team. • Maintaining the sales documentation required for the ISO9001 - 2000 accreditation in line with the company’s policies and procedures • The preparation of PowerPoint presentations using the templates provided and the creation of new templates. • Collating sales figures for the monthly sales meetings. • Providing in-depth research on major accounts, detailing areas (but not limited to) services, contacts, needs, threats. • Providing market analysis and research relating to existing and also new and potential market sectors. • Providing market analysis and research relating to existing and new and potential service areas. • Providing research on clients for specific client meetings, completing a threat/needs analysis.• Must be an excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing.

To be considered for the role of Senior Bid Manager you will be educated to Degree level and with APMP practitioner or professional level, with strong people management skills and used to working in a dynamic sales environment. You will have previous experience with complex client issues, previously managed people, be results orientated with the ability to conduct complex analyses.
