Estimator - Exciting Opportunity for a Manufacturing-Focused Role
Are you an experienced Estimator with a strong commercial and technical background? Do you have experience in drywall, joinery, or moulding/fabrication? We are currently recruiting for an Estimator for a well-established manufacturer in the construction and building materials industry. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team in a role that involves estimating for complex projects with a unique product offering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Estimating and Costing: Prepare accurate estimates for projects, primarily involving GRG (Glass Reinforced Gypsum) products, ensuring all costs are thoroughly accounted for.
- Commercial Understanding: Leverage your solid commercial background to support project costing, understanding and managing both client expectations and project financials.
- Technical Knowledge: Apply your technical expertise in drywall, joinery, and moulding/fabrication to assess and understand the intricacies of each project.
- International Projects: Although experience with international markets and export is a bonus, much of the work is focused on overseas projects, so familiarity with global costing practices is helpful.
- Collaboration: Work closely with both internal teams and external clients to ensure that estimates align with project requirements and timelines.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Estimating Experience: Proven track record of estimating within manufacturing or related industries, with particular experience in projects involving GRG products.
- Commercial & Technical Expertise: Strong commercial background with a good understanding of contracting, alongside technical expertise in related fields such as drywall, joinery, and moulding/fabrication.
- Understanding of Contracting: A strong knowledge of contracting principles and practices, especially as they relate to estimating for manufacturing projects.
- International Exposure: Familiarity with international projects and exports is beneficial, as the company often works on projects overseas.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to assess project requirements, break down costs, and identify potential risks to ensure the most accurate estimates possible.
