Description
- Reviewing and managing a portfolio of business tax clients to ensure compliance requirements are met
- Preparing and/or reviewing tax provisions and tax notes under UK GAAP and IFRS for clients
- Preparing and/or reviewing deferred tax calculations
- Advising on corporation tax quarterly instalments
- Identifying and advising on large corporate and international tax issues such as SAO, Tax Strategy, BEPS Pillar II and CBCR
- Advising and assisting OMBs in respect of their business and tax requirements for example succession planning, remuneration planning, timing of capital expenditure and capital allowances planning
- Advising and supporting entrepreneurial businesses throughout their lifecycle including determining the right business structure, incentivising staff, growing internationally, and building and protecting value for the shareholders.
- Managing and reviewing the preparation of P11Ds and PSAs
- Managing and reviewing the preparation of ERS and EMI returns
- Managing and reviewing ATED returns
- Advising on exit planning such as CPOS and MBOs
- Broad knowledge of other tax areas which are dealt with by other specialist teams, such as VAT and R&D
- Proactively involved in networking, proposals and growing the corporate tax portfolio
- Training and mentoring junior colleagues within the Business Tax Team, including helping trainees keep up to date with training and Apprenticeship Scheme obligations
- Monitoring reporting and payment deadlines.
Profile
- ACCA/ACA/ATT/CTA tax advisor with minimum one year's PQE.
- Corporate tax technical and practical knowledge
- Good knowledge of tax issues affecting OMB's and their shareholders
- Good knowledge of tax issues affecting large corporates
- Good knowledge of tax accounting
- Ability to listen to guidance and willingness to learn and develop
- Shows initiative and an ability to self-manage, taking ownership of projects and capable of acting autonomously with support where required
- Inspires confidence in others.
- Communicates effectively both in writing and verbally, leveraging support from more senior colleagues when needed
