Orion Recruitment have a career developing opportunity to join a progressive engineering group providing world-class support and products to leading companies in the aerospace, automotive, and medical sectors. Our client specialises in advanced technology solutions, with a focus on Electro-Mechanical products.

Are you a driven, hardworking, and enthusiastic Production Engineer wanting to join a dynamic team? The ideal candidate for the Production Engineer position will play a crucial role in developing and optimising production processes, ensuring high-quality manufacturing of sophisticated technical components.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for new product introductions
  • Set up and optimise production lines and production cells
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with design teams to improve manufacturing processes
  • Apply and implement LEAN manufacturing practices
  • Mentor and train assembly operators
  • Interpret and work with technical drawings
  • Assist in mechanical assembly of complex components
  • Ensure high-quality production standards and attention to detail

Required Qualifications:

  • Highly skilled mechanical assembler
  • Strong understanding of production engineering processes
  • Proven experience in setting up production lines or cells
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Well-organised with a high level of attention to detail
  • Mechanically minded with hands-on approach

 

Work Hours:

08:30 – 17:00, Monday to Friday (40-hour week)

 

Compensation and Benefits:

£35,000 - £40,000 per annum DOE

Annual company performance bonus

Pension: Up to 6% matched contribution

Holiday: 23 days per year plus statutory days

Death in Service insurance (non-contributory)

Medical/Dental insurance (non-contributory)
