You're someone who'll be able to:

  • Support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties, including reintegration into the school environment.
  • Use a variety of strategies to assist children, de-escalate situations, and encourage positive relationships and learning.
  • Create and carry out behaviour plans and track their effectiveness.
  • Encourage positive emotional health and well-being through planned activities for individual pupils and small groups.

You're someone who has:

  • Knowledge of interventions that can support children, such as activities to develop social skills.

  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.

Wishmore Cross Academy provides a supportive and tailored environment for boys aged 7 to 16 with social, emotional, and mental health challenges. With a capacity of 82 pupils, the school maintains small class sizes, allowing for close, individualized attention. The campus features expansive grounds, including a school field and orchard, home to the 'Tree for Life' project. Facilities also include a therapy suite staffed by a play therapist, speech and language therapist, and occupational therapist, as well as a soft play zone, climbing wall, and sensory spaces to help students regulate and engage in learning.
