Are you an experienced and motivated leader in children's social care? Surrey’s Children Looked After Team is seeking a Team Manager to lead and inspire a dedicated team, ensuring the best possible care, stability, and outcomes for looked-after children.

About the Role

As Team Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of social workers supporting children in care. You will oversee care planning, safeguarding, and permanency arrangements, ensuring that children’s voices and best interests are at the heart of every decision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strong leadership, guidance, and supervision to social workers and support staff.
  • Oversee care plans, court proceedings, and placement stability, ensuring children receive high-quality support.
  • Work closely with foster carers, residential providers, education and health professionals to meet the holistic needs of children.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory responsibilities, policies, and best practice standards.
  • Drive performance and quality assurance, ensuring positive outcomes for children in care.
  • Support service development and innovation, implementing best practices to improve children’s experiences.
  • Contribute to multi-agency working and strategic planning to enhance services for looked-after children.
About You

? A qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.? Proven experience in children’s social care, particularly supporting looked-after children.? Experience in leading, supervising, and developing social work teams.? Strong knowledge of care planning, court proceedings, and fostering/adoption processes.? Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, and communication skills.? Passionate about achieving the best outcomes for children and young people.
