What to Expect

We are recruiting for a Shift Maintenance Technician to join our fantastic Services team in Woking. As the Shift Maintenance Technician at McLaren, you will repair and maintain all the production equipment within the McLaren Production Centre and the McLaren Technology Centre. You will perform reactive and planned maintenance on a wide range of manufacturing plant and equipment. The role requires a high technical skill level alongside a proactive approach to resolving issues and implementing countermeasures. 

Monday to Friday day shift, early shift, late shift on a 9 week rotation and on call for 1 in 9. 

Day Shift: 

07:00 - 15:30

Early Shift:

06:00 - 14:30

Late Shift: 

13:30 - 22:00

What You'll Do

  • Carrying out repair, improvement, and planned maintenance work on production equipment.
  • Effective supervision of the subcontractor activities as required.
  • Identification of continuous improvement of plant, equipment, and systems.
  • Compliance with health, safety, and environmental policy requirements within area of responsibility.
  • Effective logging and documentation of reactive and planned maintenance tasks. 

What You'll Bring

  • A time served recognised apprenticeship in an electrical or mechanical background discipline. 
  • High level of diagnostic and fault-finding experience on plc-controlled equipment.
  • Demonstrable experience in system improvement.
  • Good mechanical system knowledge (pumps, vacuum, pneumatics, hydraulics).
  • Effective fault finding on critical production equipment.
  • Experience of fault finding and maintenance activity on PC, PLC, and electromechanically controlled production equipment.
  • Robust experience in a similar role and industry.
  • Knowledge of automated control systems and manufacturing and process equipment is required.
