Orka Financial is working for a business based in Wokingham who seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join their Finance team. You will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations, focusing on managing invoices, liaising with suppliers, and assisting with month-end tasks.

The Accounts Assistant position comes with the opportunity to study AAT.

Key Responsibilities
  • Invoice Management

    • Process, verify, and record invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
    • Reconcile invoices with purchase orders and resolve discrepancies.
    • Prepare and submit payments to suppliers and manage the payment schedule.
  • Supplier Liaison

    • Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers, acting as the main point of contact for queries.
    • Resolve any invoice or payment issues in collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.
    • Regularly review supplier accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with payment terms.
  • Month-End Support

    • Assist with month-end tasks, including journal entries, bank reconciliations, and ledger reviews.
  • General Administrative Support

    • Maintain accurate and organized financial records and files.
    • Support the Finance team in ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Qualifications and Skills
    • Previous experience in an accounts or finance assistant role.
    • Basic knowledge of accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Xero) is advantageous.
    • Working towards AAT qualification or a keen interest in beginning AAT studies.
