A forward thinking Software Vendor is looking for someone to step into a DevOps Engineer position. You will have a genuine interest and proven ability in solving IT type problems, coding and scripting, working both individually and as part of a team. This varied role involves working on continuous integration (CI) processes, automated server configuration, server security, database interrogation and problem diagnosis. The role offers many opportunities to expand on existing server-side, coding, network and virtualisation skills. Growth mind-set, sense of humour and cultural fit are as important as technical experience.

Responsibilities include: System Administrator

  • Maintain the availability of core business services, i.e. cloud-based services, build environments, microservices, etc.
  • Monitor critical infrastructure to ensure any issues are proactively identified and resolved before they cause any issues for the business
  • Research, design, test and deploy new platform solutions to support and grow the internal infrastructure to meet business needs.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, cross training and deploying new products and technologies to continuously improve efficiencies
  • Ensure the security and availability of intellectual property, as well as business critical services ranging from the E-commerce site, cloud services, maintenance of backup and disaster recovery process, procedures and facilities.
  • Assist support with customer issues

Experience Required: System Administrator

  • Commercial Linux experience including configure and maintain
  • Commercial Cloud experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure) including creation, configuration, maintenance of Load Balancing, VPC's
  • Scripting experience i.e. Bash, PowerShell, Python
  • Configuration management using Ansible and Terraform
  • Any certifications or accreditations would be beneficial i.e. CompTIA Linux, Linux Foundation, ITIL, Cisco
  • Strong collaboration and team working skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
