Technical Support Engineer - Pump Industry

Alecto Recruitment is looking to hear from experienced Pump Service Engineers or Technical Support Engineers based in the Midlands who would be interested in joining a market leading distributor of pumps and associated machinery.

In an office-based position you will carry out a key range of duties for the company by way of both internal and external technical support and estimating for customers.

Role Responsibilities

  • Technical Estimation & Quotation of equipment including, but not limited to: Replacement Pumps, Cold Water Booster Sets, Pressurisation Equipment, Pump Spares, Service & Commissioning Visits.
  • Technical support to service & workshop engineers, clients and internal/external sales staff.
  • Sales order processing for built to order products and services/site visits.
  • Purchase order processing for any necessary parts required for production & service.
  • Issuing workshop build instruction documentation - build & test certificate templates etc.
  • Bill of Materials processing for built products.
  • Booking engineer site visits into the service calendar where necessary.
  • Ensure all documentation is completed in accordance with our quality management system.
  • Ensuring & promoting high levels of health & safety standards.
  • Ensuring & promoting high levels of environmental standards.

Desired Profile

  • Essential Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in the pump industry - awareness of large manufacturers.
  • Minimum Grade C or above in GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
  • Level 3 Qualification in an engineering discipline - e.g. national certificate/diploma.
  • Competent with office 365 (Outlook, Excel) and general IT literacy.
  • Basic knowledge of pumps & associated equipment and their operating principles.
  • Pump selection & datasheet interpretation - performance curves, electrical data etc.
  • Interpretation of Engineering Drawings.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure.
