About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experiencedFunctional Skills Trainerto join our clients team in Wolverhampton. This is a permanent position that involves working with learners in theautomotive industry, supporting their development inFunctional Skills (English and Maths)and catering to learners withSpecial Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
While this role focuses on providing support to SEND learners, it is not highly complex and will primarily involve working with individuals withdyslexia, autism, and other mild learning needs. The successful candidate will ensure that learners have the necessary tools and evidence to succeed in their functional skills exams and support their overall development within their chosen industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging Functional Skills lessonsin English and Maths up to Level 2 for learners in the automotive industry.
- Providetailored supportto SEND learners, ensuring their individual needs are met.
- Develop and maintaincontrolled evidencerequired for functional skills exams, ensuring compliance with departmental recommendations.
- Conductinitial assessmentsto identify learning needs and create individualized learning plans.
- Support learners in developing confidence, resilience, and practical skills to succeed in their roles.
- Liaise with relevant departments and external agencies to ensure learners are fully supported.
- Monitor and report on learner progress, providing feedback and guidance for improvement.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure all documentation is up to date.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified teacher or trainer, holding a relevant teaching qualification such as PTLLS, AET, or equivalent.
- Proven experience deliveringFunctional Skills (English and Maths)in any sector.
- Experience working with SEND learners, with knowledge of strategies to support individuals with dyslexia, autism, or similar needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage learners effectively.
- Ability to manage and document learner progress and ensure compliance with exam and departmental requirements.
