RM Recruit is proud to partner with a highly regarded maintained school in Wolverhampton, seeking a confident and diligent Finance Assistant to join their team on a part-time, temporary basis working 20 hours per week for circa 3 months. This temporary role is based onsite Monday - Friday and offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

Reporting to the Headteacher, you will manage the full transactional finance function, ensuring seamless operational delivery.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist with day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable.
  • Process invoices, payments, and receipts in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Reconcile bank statements and maintain financial records.
  • Support the preparation of monthly financial reports.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Liaise with team members and external parties to resolve finance-related queries.
  • Ensure compliance with school policies and financial regulations.

Person Specification

  • Proven experience in a finance or accounting role.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude.
  • A qualification in finance, accounting, or a related field is desirable but not essential.
