Head of Bids - Property Services & Decarb / Retrofit

We are working with a leading Social Housing Contractor to recruit a Head of Bids to join their highly successful work winning team.

This role will require an experienced bid leader who is comfortable with taking responsibility for large and strategically important bids, whilst also being able to line manage a team of Bid Managers and support staff. Leadership qualities are therefore a must as you will be responsible for shaping strategy to delivery of exceptional PQQ and ITT quality submissions.

As the Head of Bids, you will be a talented individual capable of leading change and building a centre of excellence for bidding. You will be an influencer and will play a critical role in their future growth

Working in tandem with senior leadership you will provide strategic direction for business development, advising and influencing the targeting projects within a variety of sectors including:

Construction / Framework Projects: Education, Public sector and Blue Light projects
Social Housing Projects: Planned & Responsive Maintenance, Gas Breakdown, Servicing and Installation, Redecoration and Refurbishment Schemes.
Energy Services Projects

The main purpose of this role is to create compelling and tailored bid propositions and operational plans to position my client ahead of their competitors and exceed client expectations.

Head of Bids Essential Experience

  • Proven bid writing and tender management experience.
  • Excellent writing skills with an eye for detail, creativity and quality.
  • Leadership and project management experience.
  • IT proficient in Word and Excel.
  • Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal) with excellent interpersonal skills to lead a united team and fully engage with all employees.
  • Professionally qualified, and/or a graduate
  • Understanding of the social housing sector including responsive repairs, voids, planned and energy services.
  • Ability and confidence to a make high-quality presentations to customers.
  • Highly numerative with the ability to analyse data and translate it into bid strategy and operational meaning.
