Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? We are seeking dedicated and compassionate school Mentors to work in both mainstream and SEN (Special Educational Needs) schools in Wolverhampton, supporting primary and secondary-aged students.Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and group mentoring support to students, helping them overcome personal, social, and academic challenges.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SEN coordinators, and other professionals to create tailored support plans.
  • Build positive relationships with students to foster their confidence, self-esteem, and emotional well-being.
  • Support students with diverse needs, including those with learning difficulties, behavioural challenges, and emotional or social issues.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive school environment that encourages personal growth and academic success.
  • Track and report on student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents where necessary.
  • Help to develop strategies and interventions that support student development and engagement in the classroom.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people in a school or similar environment (mainstream or SEN).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students from various backgrounds.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting young people.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • A proactive and solution-focused approach to challenges.
  • Desirable:
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs or those who require additional support.
  • Relevant qualifications in mentoring, counselling, or education are beneficial but not essential.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and emotional well-being support.
