Tennial Personnel is looking for an experienced and skilled Assistant Plant Nursery Manager to join our client's renowned nursery and arboretum in Campsea Ashe. This full-time role operates Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 5:00 pm, with an earlier finish during winter months. Weekend work is required on a rota basis from April to October. This role starts off as temporary to permanent position; however, it goes to permanent after a successful trial. Our client is celebrated for cultivating one of the most extensive ranges of nursery stock plants in the UK and is the proud custodian of an impressive botanical collection. They specialise in growing rare plants in small quantities, from propagation to specimen sizes, with containers reaching up to 1000 litres. Known for their dedication to environmental sustainability and innovation, they cater to discerning customers nationwide.This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate horticulturist to join a forward-thinking team committed to excellence in plant care and production.Key Responsibilities:Assist the Nursery Manager in implementing growth and production plans to ensure the nursery thrives.Manage daily horticultural tasks such as weeding, irrigation, feeding, pruning, pest and disease control, while maintaining accurate records.Oversee the preparation of plants to the highest standards for customer collection, dispatch, hire, or specialist plant shows.Lead, coach, and mentor your team to produce exceptional plants, while actively participating in day-to-day tasks when needed.If you are passionate about plants, have a meticulous eye for detail, and thrive in a dynamic, hands-on environment, this role could be perfect for you! Skills:Enthusiasm for a wide range of plants and a comprehensive knowledge of plant genera, including familiarity with botanic plant names.
