Board Member
Finance background, Expenses paid, Woodford Green
We are a trusted national provider specialising in housing for individuals with disabilities. With almost 20 years of experience, we excel in offering tailored housing solutions for adults with Learning Disabilities and Mental Health needs. We provide quality housing management, property development and other housing related services. This is a really exciting time to be joining the association and gain board experience within our larger parent company who provide Care and Support services.
Passionate about the difference housing can make to people’s lives - the principles of affordable, safe, secure and comfortable housing remain at the heart of all we do.
This Board Member role is a critical part of our scrutiny and to represent us on the Group Finance Committee and main Group Board. Working closely with the other Board Members, you will bring a financial perspective to the Board, Committees and Group ensuring the strategic direction and performance of the organization is progressing in line with good practice and regulatory requirements in a culture of integrity and openness.
We are seeking an individual with broad finance and leadership experience and a strong interest in housing, health & adult social care, social enterprise and the role of the third sector in providing services. You should also have an empathy or understanding of the needs of disabled people and those who are vulnerable and disadvantaged and in need of care & support.
The 6 Board Meetings per year are held online and 2 Strategy Days are in person. Meetings of the Group Finance Committee and Board are face to face during working hours, so this may suit a consultant or someone who is retired or semi-retired.
As a small housing organisation, the role is unpaid, but reasonable expenses will be reimbursed and we can assure you that the positive impact we have on individuals’ lives is highly rewarding itself.
