Our client is a leading manufacturing company specialising in high-quality products, known for their commitment to precision and excellence. We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated metal worker to join their team on a permanent, full-time basis. If you have a strong work ethic, an eye for detail, and experience in a heavy engineering environment, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

You will be responsible for shaping and forging metal components to exact specifications, playing a key role in the production process. This is a physically demanding role that requires precision, attention to detail, and adherence to safety standards. Please note - you will be required to work a variety of shifts over a 24 hour period; 6am until 2pm, 2pm until 10pm and 10pm until 6am, Monday to Friday which will eventually become permanent nights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain forge equipment.
  • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
  • Input and modify programmes on computer controls.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
  • Perform fettling, painting and shotblasting duties..
  • Collaborate with the production team to meet daily and weekly output targets.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a heavy engineering environment is preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Good physical fitness and stamina, as the role involves heavy lifting and working in high temperatures.
  • A proactive attitude and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and the ability to adhere to them strictly.
  • Ability to be flexible, and work mornings, afternoons and nights.
