Your new companyHays Senior Finance are working with a large, reputable organisation as they look to recruit a new Financial Accountant on a permanent basis. This Canadian-owned business provides engineering, procurement and construction services to various industries across the world.Your new roleWorking as part of their UK Centre of Excellent financial accounting team, you will be required to support the Financial Controller across a range of areas including management accounting, lease accounting, intercompany accounting and much more.

Key responsibilities:

  • Preparation of management accounts and analysing variances
  • Preparation of budget and forecast information
  • Month-end reporting including journals and reconciliations
  • Maintain intercompany loans and assist with the monthly intercompany reconciliation process
  • Assist with the preparation of annual corporation tax packs for multiple companies
  • Preparation of analysis and reports for various other finance departments
  • Preparation of data for ONS
  • Support and act as a mentor for the Assistant Accountant

What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) - first time movers from practice considered
  • Technically sound with an excellent understanding of day-to-day accounting processes and procedures, ideally in a large company setting
  • Analytically minded with the ability to look at and handle large data sets
  • Comfortable embracing change in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to communicate and influence at all levels
  • Strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, LookUps, Formulas etc.) and working knowledge of finance packages (Oracle an advantage)
