Your new companyHays Senior Finance are working with a large, reputable organisation as they look to recruit a new Financial Controller on a permanent basis. This Canadian-owned business provides engineering, procurement and construction services to various industries across the world.

Your new roleWorking as part of their UK Centre of Excellence financial accounting team, you will be responsible for a number of key operational finance tasks including the oversight of management accounts, budgets, forecasts, intercompany reconciliations whilst managing a small team.

Main duties:

  • Oversee the preparation of management accounts, budgets and forecasts
  • Oversee balance sheet reconciliations in Blackline
  • Oversee IFRS16 lease accounting entries
  • Oversee and assist with the intercompany reconciliation process
  • Oversee the UK CAPEX process
  • Oversee and assist with the preparation of annual corporation tax packs for multiple companies
  • Preparation of analysis and reports for other departments including tax and treasury
  • Management, training and development of 3 staff (2 x qualified and 1 x part-qualified)
  • Assisting with ad hoc projects as required

What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) - first time movers from practice may be considered
  • An excellent understanding of day-to-day accounting processes and procedures, preferably in a large company setting
  • Analytically minded with the ability to look at and handle large data sets
  • Highly organised and able to meet strict deadlines
  • Comfortable being hands-on with a 'sleeves rolled up approach'
  • Experience of managing and developing finance staff (highly desirable)
  • Strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, LookUps, Formulas etc.) and excellent working knowledge of finance packages (Oracle an advantage)
