Ecologist - Worcester

£25,000 - £30,000

Penguin Recruitment is excited to offer an opportunity for enthusiastic ecologists to join a dynamic and growing ecology team in the Worcester, with a chance to work on a wide range of development projects across the UK.

You will be part of an integrated ecology and planning team, supporting colleagues across our Birmingham, Worcester, or Nottingham offices, and occasionally working from home. This role combines both office-based tasks and fieldwork, which may require overnight stays (with expenses covered).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organising and supporting field surveys
  • Conducting initial desk studies, gathering and reviewing ecological data
  • Assisting with protected species surveys (newts, bats, badgers)
  • Developing field data collection techniques and improving botanical skills (FISC qualifications, BNG, habitat management)

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience carrying out fieldwork and desk studies, and report-writing
  • Botany specialism is desirable
  • Protected species licence(s) would be beneficial
  • Passionate about ecology with strong time management and organisational skills
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
