Ecologist - WorcesterSalary: £25,000-£30,000

We are excited to collaborate with a renowned UK-based property consultancy, currently seeking passionate and motivated Ecologists to join their growing Ecology team in Worcester. This is a great opportunity to further your career by contributing to a wide variety of projects across the UK, with roles available at multiple levels.

Ecologist Role:As an Ecologist, you will work alongside an integrated ecology and planning team, supporting significant development projects nationwide. This role offers a blend of office work and fieldwork, ensuring a dynamic and varied working experience. You will have the flexibility to work from our offices in Birmingham, Worcester, Nottingham, or remotely from home. Fieldwork may occasionally involve overnight stays, with all costs fully covered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Field Surveys: Plan, assist, and conduct a variety of ecological field surveys, including protected species surveys for newts, bats, and badgers.
  • Desk Studies: Perform in-depth desk-based research by gathering, evaluating, and interpreting ecological data to support project development.
  • Data Collection & Analysis: Implement effective data collection techniques and provide accurate analysis and reporting of results.
  • Botanical Assessments: Expand and apply your botanical expertise, particularly in relation to FISC qualifications, Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG), and habitat management practices.
  • Project Collaboration: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality ecological assessments and recommendations.

Qualifications and Experience:Essential:

  • A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Genuine enthusiasm and commitment to ecology and environmental conservation.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

Desirable:

  • Experience in conducting ecological surveys and assessments.
  • Strong analytical and report-writing abilities.
  • Familiarity with ecological data analysis tools and software.
  • Protected Species Licence(s)
  • Botanical Experience
