The Opportunity:? 

Following sustained growth in the business, we are looking for a Risk Engineer to join our EO Property Risk Solutions team; this is your chance to create your career in an exciting environment where anything is possible.

As a Risk Engineer for QBE, you will provide primary support for Underwriters in the management and evaluationof Customer accounts across sectors as wide as food & beverage, metal, chemical manufacturing and oil & gas.

In addition, you will work closely with Customers and Brokers on risk surveys, risk improvement programmes and risk engineering projects to provide risk reduction or mitigation advice and assist in effective risk decision making. You will assist the Practice Leader of the Property Risk Solutions to deliver these services in a cost effective and timely manner in keeping with the Risk Solutions service delivery strategy. 

The ideal candidate: 

  • Has working knowledge of hazard analysis and risk assessments principles.  

  • Has demonstrable,practical process safety experience. 

  • Has experience in delivering, managing or auditing safety systems. 

  • Has experience in either maintenance, asset care or facilities management environments.  

  • Is highly self-motivatedtodevelop their technical and professional capabilities for their career and the business’ development. 

  • Has excellent negotiation & presentation skills. 

  • Has excellent relationship management skills - able to liaise and influence at all levels. 

  • Can work to tight deadlines and manage own workload. 

  • Has the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
