IT Field Engineer - Gloucester & Worcester Area

Are you a proactive and technically skilled Field Engineer with a passion for IT systems and network installations? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join a leading technology provider, specializing in innovative digital solutions for the Quick Service Restaurants (QSR), Hospitality, and Retail sectors.

Role Overview: As an IT Field Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing new customer site installations and providing ongoing maintenance for digital solutions across various locations. You'll manage both hardware and software elements, ensuring seamless installations of self-service kiosks, server infrastructure, and networking systems. The role requires travel across a defined region (up to 100 miles from home) and occasional nationwide support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the installation of digital solutions at new customer sites.
  • Perform break/fix tasks for various hardware and connectivity issues.
  • Provide on-site support, ensuring smooth installation and operation of products.
  • Collaborate with on-site personnel, including electricians and builders.
  • Offer high-quality customer service and training on technical products.
  • Ensure health and safety compliance during all installations.
  • Maintain accurate communication and regular updates with clients.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a field engineer in IT systems and networks.
  • Familiarity with retail or QSR installations, particularly self-service kiosks or similar systems.
  • Hands-on experience with Cat 5/Cat 6 network installations and basic power tool usage.
  • Flexibility to work some longer hours, including occasional weekend on-call duties.
  • A full UK driving licence with no previous bans.
  • Strong customer service and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
